Merrimac Tile and Stone - New England Tile Carpet Flooring NH
Over Half a Century of Expertise

Frank Indoccio, Merrimac Title and Stone In 1940 when Frank Indoccio finished his schooling along with his three brothers, they opened their own tile business to help provide for the family. Difficulty getting tiles during the war caused the brothers to open a bakery until enough material was accumulated to do tile projects. In 1952 tile was readily available, so the boys sold the bakery to concentrate on the tile business. The following year they built a building in Derry, New Hampshire. Frank and his brother Vincent handled Sales and Estimating, while the two other brothers handled the work in the field.

Some of the first Merrimac Tile projects included 1,600 apartments at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire, Budweiser Brewery halls and bathrooms in Merrimack New Hampshire, Williamsburg Virginia, and the Jacksonville Florida plant. Other high profile jobs in the Boston Area included the Museum of Fine Arts, JFK Federal Building and 100 Lansdowne Street where Merrimac Tile installed 25 stories of wood, marble and carpet. And in New Hampshire there was the Manchester Airport.

In the 1980's the housing market exploded. Tom Indoccio, Frank's son, was now working in the family business, and Merrimac Tile worked on residential condominiums and projects in Virginia and New Jersey. Today most of the work is within a 60 to 75 mile radius of Boston, MA.

Tom has taken over as Merrimac Tiles' Vice President/General Manager. Frank remains vibrant at 93 years old and is still involved with all aspects of the company. Frank continues to work every day and is the key individual in the estimating group. Today Merrimac Tile is still a family owned and operated business, and a union commercial floor covering company that installs resilient carpet, ceramic, quarry, marble and stone flooring.
